The Last Daughter of Wolves by Kathrine Elaine

The Last Daughter of Wolves by Kathrine Elaine

Dearest Substack, I wish you well on this dreary weekend. I finished yet another Substack book! I know it has been some time since our last correspondence, but I trust you are still drowning in letters to be read! I do hope you get to these books and read them for yourself. I anticipate your immediate question, dear Substack, and yes I shall briefly convey my thoughts here.

Time for another Loser’s Thoughts on Substack Lit. losersfiction.substack.… This time, it’s sort of a dark romance though I don’t think it fits neatly into that category and I am very bad at accurately saying what genre a story is. SO, it’s a book — that much is totally for sure.

The Last Daughter of Wolves written by Kathrine Elaine packs a book into a novella, yet it doesn’t feel stuffed or rushed. It’s a sort of Romulus (ya know, that Roman story) meets Pygmalion (ya know, that black and white movie) with a pinch of Beauty and the Beast maybe. Now, this is not my usual fare in reading, but I could tell it was written well. I have read the Folk of the Air trilogy, and I think fans of those books would very much like this book. All of the pieces come together quite nicely, the characters evolve and grow, and the plot pays off in the end. I particularly liked the perspective of Stella as she sees things and learns more about humanity.
